TriState Capital Bank first began as a solution to growing gaps in the banking industry. Over the last few decades, banking trends left a large class of clients underserved: middle market businesses, executives, and high-net-worth individuals.
On one end of the industry, mergers began to multiply the large financial institutions that focus on the corporate and mass consumer markets. On the other end, smaller community banks focused on retail, and small business lending, but stopped there. This polarization of the industry reduced the number of medium-sized and regional institutions to serve that middle market.
Bridging the banking industry gap.
Our founders saw a need and an opportunity. To serve this middle market client base, they knew they wanted to combine the capabilities of a large financial institution with the personalized service of a smaller bank, starting in the primary markets of Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, and New Jersey. They built a new bank from the ground up for this sole purpose.
They designed their venture with the spirit of a boutique bank and the capabilities of a money-center bank. They created a full suite of customized banking solutions and assembled a team of industry experts with a deep understanding of middle market banking and business. Their first priority was to serve their clients as true partners and trusted advisors with the knowledge and power to act.
TriState Capital Bank is founded to serve the middle market.

TriState Capital Holdings acquires Chartwell Investment Partners, adds Asset Management.
