- Support the credit approval process by analyzing financial statements, calculating key ratios, and assessing borrower and guarantor creditworthiness.
- Input financial data into proprietary models and conduct market research to support loan decisions.
- Attend prescreen and loan committee meetings to observe and contribute to the decision-making process.
- Assist with loan system accuracy, Current Expected Credit Loss documentation, covenant testing, and quarterly performance reviews (QPRs).
- Participate in sourcing new loan opportunities and contribute to special projects that enhance understanding of commercial real estate lending.

The AML intern will assist with a wide range of duties, including analyzing data, preparing financial reports, and learning about varied financial activities. Reporting directly to the AML and Sanctions Officer, the intern will gain hands-on experience in understanding federal AML and Sanctions regulations and how financial institutions implement operational practices to ensure compliance. Interns will be asked to present an end of assignment presentation at the end of their internship.
Primary Functions of the Position:
- Attending and actively participating in AML/FCM team meetings.
- Providing feedback on ongoing work and escalating high-risk client activity to AML/FCM Managers and the AML Officer.
- Participating in AML Officer Escalation Meetings, AML Officer Ecosystem Trainings, and the AML Oversight Group (AMLOG), gaining exposure to leadership decision-making processes.
- The intern will rotate through three core functional teams:
- Client Intelligence Unit (CIU): Conducts due diligence on clients escalated during onboarding, with AML approval required before account establishment.
- Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD): Reviews high-risk client accounts and transactional activity to identify potential AML and Sanctions risks.
- AML and Sanctions Investigations: Investigates customer alert activity using the automated monitoring platform to assess suspicious behavior and determine if federal reporting is necessary.
